LEGO 6979 Interstellar Starfighter is a Space UFO set released in 1997, containing 292 pieces and 3 minifigures. The set builds a large alien starfighter featuring a detachable flying-saucer cockpit, V-shaped wings with magnet elements, thrusters, and laser details. It includes a fiber optic lighting unit with 8 cables powered by a battery box, and comes with a poster. The minifigures are Chamon, Alpha Draconis, and Andy Droid, and the set was also marketed as the X Interstellar Voyager; it is the second-largest set in the UFO subtheme.
